Taj Mahal History

Taj Mahal is most famous building of the world. If there is a building which represents a country like Eiffel tower for France, Sydney opera house for Australia, then it has to be Taj Mahal for India. Taj Mahal is sign of love which was constructed by emperor shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal "lady of the Taj" who died after producing 14 children.

It cost around 41 million rupees and 500 kg of gold. It took 22 years to complete with the employment of 20000 workers in 1653. Workers were not only recruited from India but also from central Asia. Experts were also brought from France and Italy. The master architect of Taj was Ustad Ahmed Lahori. Taj Mahal is best master piece of Mughal architecture.
