Story related to Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal meaning the "Crown Palace” stands in the gothic city of Agra. It is one of the most astonishing monuments in the world. The beauty and magnificence of the Taj is famous all over the world and it is regarded as symbol of love. Taj Mahal being one of 7 wonder’s of world, as big name as many stories.

As you all know this monument was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife ’Mumtaz Mahal’who died after producing 14 children in 1629. It took 22 years to get complete in1653. Around 20000 workers were recruited for construction of this epic monument, even experts and technical were appointed from France and Italy.

The most unusual story about Taj which many people do not knew is that Shah Jahan intended to built a second Taj Mahal as his own tomb in black marble, a negative image of the white Taj. Before he could build extravagant second master piece he was imprisoned by his son Aurengzeb. Shah Jahan spent his life in the Agra fort looking out at impeccable Taj Mahal.
