Alwar City Tour
City Palace - AlwarBala Qila is an ancient fort that lies about 300 feet above ground level on a small hill. Tourists have to take special permissions from the authorities to visit this fort as it now serves a radio transmitting station.
The Palace Complex, that was a palace earlier, is now turned into a museum. It has a fine collection of items including stone statues, some ancient and traditional instruments, and beautiful paintings depicting the life events of Lord Krishna and Radha.
Purjan Vihar, also known as Company Garden, is the charming garden established during the period of Maharaja Shiv Dhan Singh in 1868 AD. A beautiful setting here known as Shimla was made by Maharaja Mangal Singh in 1885 AD. Another important attraction in the garden is the ‘Chatri’ or Moosi Maharani Ki Chatri featuring uncommon roof and arches.
Any tourist on India holiday trip can reach Alwar quite easily. Jaipur Airport, located about 143 km away, serves as the nearest airport to Alwar. The city is connected to rest of India by railway line. A well-maintained road network connects the city to other parts of Rajasthan including Bharatpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, as well as Delhi, Agra, etc.
