Heritage On Wheels

The luxurious Heritage on Wheels train, started with joint efforts of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) and Indian Railways, was made operational after observing the success of the Palace on Wheels. Heritage On Wheels, which runs on meter gauge, takes tourists to an unforgettable journey of Bikaner and Shekhawati regions of Rajasthan, famous for their rich culture and heritage. A journey in this train also gives a chance to explore the state of Rajasthan in a royal manner.

Day 1 : Tuesday / Friday

Detailed Tour Itinerary: You're week-long Rajasthan tour on Heritage on Wheel starts from Jaipur. You reach the Jaipur railway station by 6:30 pm where you receive a warm welcome from the staff. You board the train, which leaves the station at about 7:30 pm for Bikaner. You are served dinner while you enjoy the luxurious interiors of the train.


Day 02 : Wednesday / Saturday
Detailed Tour Itinerary: The train arrives at Bikaner railway station in the morning of the second day of your Rajasthan tour on Heritage on Wheel. You enjoy the whole day in Bikaner, a city that lies in the desert region of Rajasthan. It was established during late 15th century by Rao Bika Ji. An airconditoned coach bus takes you to the sightseeing tour of Bikaner, including forts and other historical monuments. After enjoying Bikaner sightseeing trip, you return to station and board the train which leaves the railway station at about 11:30 pm.


Day 03 : Thursday / Sunday
Detailed Tour Itinerary: The train arrives at Tal Chhapar railway station at about 7:30 am in the morning of the third day of your Rajasthan tour on Heritage on Wheel. Tal Chhapar is a town in Shekhawati region known for its havelis with beautiful carvings and frescoes. Shekhawati is sometimes referred to as Open Air Gallery and lies in the Delhi-Bikaner-Jaipur tourist circuit. Here you visit the Mahansar Haveli, Mandava Haveli and some other famous monuments. You reach Mandawa Resort to enjoy lunch before returning to station to board the train. The train leaves the station and reaches Nawalgarh at about 04:15 pm. Here again, you visit magnificent havelis with beautiful paintings. You also visit the Nawalgarh fort and Sheesh Mahal giving you a glimpse of the rich architectural heritage of Rajasthan. You return to board the train and enjoy scrumptious dinner. At about 10 pm, the train leaves the Nawalgarh railway station for Jaipur.


Day 04 : Friday / Monday
Detailed Tour Itinerary: The train arrives at Jaipur railway station at 6:30 am in the morning of the fourth day of your Rajasthan tour. You enjoy a few more hours in the train before getting off the train, thus coming to the end of a wonderful and unforgettable journey.
